Vipers Travel Softball

The Program:

Vipers Softball is a program for girls who want to play high-caliber, competitive softball and improve their skills.  This is facilitated by excellent instruction by dedicated coaches.  All coaches are USA Softball certified.  For 12U and older, we practice nearly all year (no practice in August and no practice in December except for pitchers).  In addition to individual team practices, we offer a program philosophy on how to play the game.  We offer skills practices during the off-season, separate pitcher’s practices, separate catcher’s practices, and separate hitting instruction.  And while there is no shortage of opportunity for the girls to improve their skills, we also recognize the desire for girls to play multiple competitive sports.  This is a rapidly expanding program in terms of players (with 110 girls participating this past season), talent, and geography.

  • Fall – practice starting in Sep, typically playing in one or two tournaments and games with area teams

  • Winter training – team practices once per week in Nov and Jan through the start of game play

  • Additional weekly hitting practice

  • Summer includes tournaments commensurate with each team’s level

  • Summer (Jun and Jul) – all teams will play a weeknight travel league

  • Pitching and position clinics are included for all levels

    • Pitching instruction is subsidized by the program

Benefits vs Other Programs:

  • Convenience The convenience of a top softball program with the ability to stay relatively local for practices and many games.  We will be utilizing the local indoor turf facilities for practices, batting, clinics, and potentially winter games.  We have great access to the 4 skinned fields on the Victor Central Schools campus.

  • A “Softball Family” – Often these are players from the same or neighboring school districts.  Players and families develop great bonds and relationships that last for many years.

  • Cost – A lot of softball for the money: 6 tournaments (except 10U) - 40 to 55 games in total depending on the team, league games during the week, off-season skill development, additional “program clinics”, and specific pitchers, catchers, hitting sessions.
