Victor 'Jr. Blue Devils' Community Softball
Changes for 2021
COVID-19 and the new use field use fees have added significant costs to our budget, but we are able to keep registration fees the same as last year. However, we will be making some changes for 2021. In prior years we were able to hold a uniform sizing event as part of our indoor clinic. Due to COVID-19 this will not be possible this year. Instead, when registering please enter your daughter's jersey size. Each coach will have extra jerseys in case there are sizing issues. It will be extremely difficult to order softball pants without trying them on, so we're asking parents to purchase gray pants for your daughter. Sharing of equipment will also not be allowed, so we're asking parents to also purchase a batting helmet (with a cage style face mask for safety). Coaches will have some helmets available to borrow for the season if purchasing one is not feasible. More information on equipment will be provided by email. Watch for the upcoming VCBS Dick's Sporting Goods Discount Day.

VCBS provides progressive developmental and competitive softball programs for children ages 4-16.
Eligibility for our programs is based upon the child's "league age" which, in accordance with the national governing organizations for baseball and softball, differ for boys entering baseball programs and girls entering softball programs.
- "League age" for softball programs is the girl's age as of January 1st. This tends to cause quite a bit of confusion:
- For example: a girl born between Jan-Apr of 2016 has a league age of four, despite the fact that she will turn five years old before the 2021 softball season begins. She should be registered in the Skills & Drills program and will be eligible to play in the T-Ball league next year.
- Likewise, a girl born between Jan-Apr of 2008, IS eligible to play in the 12 and under Majors league, despite the fact that she will turn 13 years old before the season begins.
To ensure fairness for all, VCBS will only allow players to participate in leagues for which they are "league age" eligible.
