Welcome Back Victor Baseball!

July 6th, 2020

Victor Little League Families,

As we continue to celebrate our American Independence, NY Little League Resumption Day falls upon VLL's 'Salute to Service' 2020 season opener! This season, all players will compete in color-coded digital camoflauge MLB uniforms.

The VLL Board of Directors thanks all parents for stepping up to the plate, at a time when our children need Baseball more than EVER before. Following months of isolation from school, sports, and friends, Little League Baseball is the first structured youth program to operate, all around the country, since the shutdown. It will be a community effort to make this the safest, most enjoyable experience possible for all involved.

The VLL Board of Directors has observed, and drawn from, other State’s Little League Resumption Guides, along with NY State Guidelines, to develop our own District-approved VCBS ‘Return to Play’ Guidelines.

Thoughts of added expectations from Coaches, may seem overwhelming; however, through required delegation, their jobs will essentially feel the same.

NEW TO 2020 Victor Little League

  • A “bench coach” is required for any VLL Team to participate in a Game. This can be an assistant coach, parent, or volunteer. They must ensure social distancing by limiting dugout occupancy to the next 2-3 batters due up in the batting order (all other players must wait with their parent/guardian); use wipes to disinfect benches, bat racks, bats, and game balls (teams should only pitch/play defense with their own game balls); and ensure all coaches, players, and spectators are abiding by the Return To Play Guidelines. Large quantities of disinfectant wipes/hand sanitizer have been ordered (They will be kept in the storage boxes at all VLL Field locations. Please dispose of any used wipes properly).

  • Face coverings should be worn by Coaches and Spectators when social distancing is not possible. Players are not required to wear face masks while batting or in the field of play. We suggest players carry a mask in their back pocket, like batting gloves, for when they cannot social distance.

  • All participants must self-evaluate before any VCBS event. If anyone feels ill, or has a temperature of over 100.4 degrees, they must not attend the event’s location. Coaches, please ensure that none of your players are ill when they arrive. Simply ask each player, “Hello _____ , how are you feeling today?”

  • Please keep water bottles, and all personal items, with parents/guardians (Bats may be kept in the dugout).

  • VLL will schedule games at least an hour apart to minimize unnecessary crowds and traffic. We expect more guidance from VCS, by the end of next week, in regards to the use of campus fields by outside organizations. Our hope is to transfer any remaining scheduled events to the VCS Clover Fields ASAP. In the meantime, please see our new Local Field Maps below. Due to the lack of parking at some locations, we have designated Parking Lots for Coaches, Umpires, Handicap Parking, and pick up/drop off. Abiding by these parking rules is essential to our social distancing efforts.

  • New York State has imposed a limit of TWO spectators per player. If a single parent cannot find support for multiple children, they may bring the additional siblings. However, two adults cannot bring multiple children to any VCBS Events. Limiting crowd sizes will be crucial to our initial success. Players/Coaches will be notified by their League Presidents of any changes to NY State and/or VCBS Return To Play Guidelines.

  • Players who may have travelled to/from a state/location that is on the New York State travel advisory list must complete a 14-day quarantine (required by NY State)

Download the "Sports Signup Play" App, and use your victorbaseball.com credentials to log in. The app will automatically link to any teams you are rostered on, which is helpful for scheduling. If you already have this app, you may need to log out and back in, for your 2020 teams to load. Your team can also be found at victorbaseball.com:

  • Find 'Victor Teams' in the top horizontal tab menu
  • Select 'Victor Little League'
  • Select your '(League)' and then '(Team)"
  • In the verticle menu on the left side of your Team Page, you can find your Team Roster, Schedule, and more!
