posted 06/24/2009 This year VCBS will hold its 2010 Travel baseball tryouts for both the 10U and 12U in September. In the past, VCBS has also supported 13U and 15U MCBR teams by providing equipment and administrative assistance. If anyone is interested in assuming responsibility for the formation and management of these team, we are willing to support fall tryouts for these levels as well. In addition to having the fields and decent weather in which to accomplish this task, we feel it should benefit the kids as it is much closer to the end of the baseball season than in years past. It also should allow for the coach to begin working with team earlier in the season.
In order to accomplish this task we need coaches who have interest to submit an application by August 1st. The application is located on the website and should be submitted to Brian Fink as soon as possible. We plan on selecting the coaches before the try-outs so they can have ample involvement in both the try-out and selection process.
We also hope that by having the teams selected early, our board and the many volunteers who assist us, will have much more time to plan for the upcoming Rec season. We look forward to providing both pitching and hitting clinics throughout the winter and fine-tuning the details to allow for a much smoother Rec. season.
